Along with your case you will also be able to securely display a 8.5 inch x 11 inch document in the document holder. It has a 1/8" tempered glass viewing pane (the same glass as in your car door) and the back board is covered in rich, luxurious black felt. There is plenty of room, in this case, to hang medals and other memorabilia.

Excellent Display Case
Purchased this particular case mainly because it was made in the USA and I liked the finish of the wood, it was very well made and really liked the look of it with my flag and certificate installed, I will recommend to everyone.

Disappointed
The case is well-made, but just a word of caution. The description indicates that you can "securely display" your certificate. However, there is only an open wooden frame for the certificate and no way for it to be secured. I actually thought I had a defective shadow box and attempted to get more information. I contacted customer service and they didn't know. Finally I did get a response (after 3 calls) that I needed to secure the document myself, with tacks or double sided tape. I was using the case to display an official certificate of authenticity and an American flag that was flown on a recent attack against ISIS that our son commanded! Needless to say, I was NOT going to use double sided tape or tacks! I took the certificate to an UPS Store for lamination and then used small, round velcro on the back of the lamination to attach to the velvet backing. I'm disappointed that the description was deceptive and further disappointed that customer service did not seem to believe that it needed to be changed. If you buy this, please plan on coming up with your own solution to this oversight. I read the reviews on the other styles (after the fact) and there were several comments to this flaw. I wish I had seem these first. I kept the display box since it was a very special Christmas gift and there was no time to return. Without this issue I would give this an excellent review.
