It's made of lightweight gold tone ABS plastic with a shiny finish. This plastic spear will fit a pole that's 1.25 inches in diameter with a 7/8-inch tapered end. Excellent appearance
Spear has perfect fit on 7 ft. oak pole. Appears to be brass rather than plastic.

Will not fit my 15/16" pole, The inside diameter is not small enough

Size description incorrect
The spears I received do NOT fit 1.25 inch diameter poles; the opening is just wide enough for 7/8 inch diameter poles. I shopped around and found this the best price for our existing poles, but if the size is incorrect, the price doesn't matter. :-(

Not the best
The product came in varied colors of gold. I ordered several of them and they didn't match. For the price, I expected a much better product. They are very light and don't fit the pole correctly. I ended up adding Velcro to them to get them to fit the pole correctly.
