Does not hold up in sustained wind.

Posted by Flyguy on Apr 4th 2018

This is the third bracket I have purchased in 3 years, While being a very good product it has a tendency to snap at the teeth joint in sustained variable winds. Something made from a stronger material would be ideal.

Very good. Mounted up in old holes of previous holder(plastic)

Should last much longer than plastic holder.

      good but...

This is a very good bracket. However, if you have a heavy flag and it is very windy (over 40 mph), this bracket may break. So far we have had 2 that have broken under high wind. So with a high wind warning in effect, I would take your flag inside.

      Needs an improvement

I installed two of these, While they look sturdy and well made, one of them broke during a rain storm after less than 60 days. The bracket part that mounts on the wall fractured through the spline and bolt hole.where the two parts of the bracket are connected. There is a very thin section through the spline on this part. The other part, that holds the flagpole has a thicker section through the spline. The thin section on one part should be strengthened.

      Bracket needs to be stronger

It's a great design, but I have had two of these break off in a strong wind. The casting needs to be heavier/stronger. I strongly recommend this item PROVIDED you take your flag down when a strong wind is predicted.
