Outrigger Wall Mount
While Flag Day on June 14 is an official holiday, it is not a federal one. The idea for a special day to honor the country's flag was actually the brainchild of a Wisconsin school teacher. Bernard Cigrand began his lifelong guest in 1885. Today, only one state considers Flag Day an actual holiday and it's fitting that it is Pennsylvania since the first flag was designed and sewn in the Keystone State.
United States Flag Store is the largest online flag vendor with a selection of over two million flags. President Woodrow Wilson officially adopted Flag Day on May 30, 1916, making Cigrand's dream a reality. However, it wasn't until August 3, 1949 when June 14 became National Flag Day after President Truman inked an Act of Congress.
