I inherited a multi piece flag pole with collars on the pole that slide up and down the pole and around the pole, as needed. Unfortunately, they do not always slip and slide as they should. I have seen the big poles with retainer rings and a weight and decided to give them a go. While my pole is no more than 2" in diameter, the added 5" beaded rings and this weight help keep my two flags taunt and lets them easily move with the breeze. I was concerned that the weight would be too much, but it turned out to be just right. My next pole upgrade will be a new traveler and topper. These are great enhancements to a free pole.
