Betsy Ross flag
The first American flag, also known as the Betsy Ross flag, is the most debated flag in American history.
The flag was first adopted in 1777 following a decree from congress that called for a combination of stars and stripes to be used in the flag with very little guidance other than that. The flag features a circle of 13 stars on a blue background and 13 stripes alternating in red and white to represent the 13 colonies.
United States Flag Store carries Betsy Ross flags in standard or stick flag sizes. Standard flags measure 3-feet by 5-feet flags are made of nylon, polyester or 100 percent cotton. Polyester and cotton flags are imported and are value-priced. Nylon flags are of higher quality, but cost slightly more. Stick flags are value priced and are available in 2 sizes.
