How much wind can a telescoping flagpole handle?

Telescoping flagpoles aren't really designed to handle a lot of wind. The idea and allure of the telescoping flagpole is that they can be easily taken down when inclement weather is imminent. That being said, you should always remove your flag and lower your telescoping flagpole if severe weather is on the way.

Which flagpole will withstand the wind?

For flagpoles that are specifically designed to withstand higher winds seen in windier areas such as coastlines and locations more prone to tornadoes and hurricanes, check out our Hurricane Series Flagpoles. These flagpoles come with a heavier price tag than many of our other flagpoles but with good reason. For the majority of these flagpoles, they have a flagged windspeed of 150 miles per hour with an unflagged windspeed of up to 230 miles per hour. Be sure to check out the additional information section on each of these pages to get the specific ratings for each of these products. All of our Hurricane Series Flagpoles on this page are made in the United States.

Who makes the best telescoping flagpole?

Some of our most popular telescoping flagpoles at the United States Flag Store are made by our very own brand Super Tough. The Super Tough 18ft Telescoping Flagpole Kit has a 4.5-star rating with reviews that praise it for its looks, durability and ease of use.
