The Pennsylvania House of Representatives passed a bill ( House Bill 179 ) on June 11th to add the words "Commonwealth of" above and "Pennsylvania" below the crest in big yellow block letters. Currently the Pennsylvania Senate is considering the idea.

We think that if we are going to change the flag, let’s make it a lot nicer! The current design is not a good one for several reasons.

There is not enough contrast between the dark blue background and the black horses.

You can not see the words “Virtue Liberty and Independence” on the red banner

There is too much detail and too many colors

The state symbol – the keystone, is not in the flag
